CSIA Central AGM Pro Day Weekend Hall of Fame Inductee
The Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA) Central Canada Hall of Fame is dedicated to preserving the history of the organization, inspiring and encouraging the development of young instructors, and ensuring CSIA members who have made a significant contribution to the growth and well-being of the CSIA and to the sport of skiing and ski teaching. The CSIA Central Hall of Fame has 4 categories to recognize specific areas of contribution. This year we are happy to announce that we have selected one member for Builders category.
It is with sincere pleasure that we announce the selection of our CSIA Central Hall of Fame inductee for 2024-2025, in the Builder category: Dan Blankstein.
Dan is currently a 50-year member of the organization and in that time has contributed significantly on both the regional and national boards as well as in the certification process of new instructors. In addition, he has been influential in coaching generations of Manitoba racers as coach of the Summit Ski Club.
His ski instructing teaching and management history includes:
Five years of full-time teaching plus 4 years part-time teaching in the western USA and Canada.
Over 25 years as a Level 1 Course Conductor in the CSIA Central Region. CSIA Level 3/ Level 1 CC/CSIA Trainer level achieved.
Other Certifications Achieved: PSIA Level 2; ACA/CSC Performance Level Coach, Coach Developer-Facilitator and Coach Developer-Evaluator; NCCP Advanced Coaching Diploma.
CSIA National Volunteer committees’ contributions, current member of the National Governance and Past Chairs Committees and National Board member, Chair and Past-Chair
Dan’s life as a skier and instructor will be recognized with a celebration at Holiday Mountain, Manitoba as part of the CSIA Central Pro Days Camp and Conference (including AGM) on December 14 & 15. We are looking forward to providing more detail about this passionate skier’s past during the presentation of the award at the Saturday banquet. Please join us for this event if you can!
