Crafting Durable and High-Performance Skis
At Ferreol, every step of our manufacturing process is driven by a deep commitment to the environment. Our skis are crafted in Quebec using sustainable materials, such as natural fibers, locally sourced resources, and bio-based components. A Life Cycle Assessment revealed the significant impact of synthetic fibers in production, inspiring us to adopt natural alternatives like flax fiber. This material, which is nearly carbon-neutral and boasts remarkable mechanical properties, has been incorporated into our Surfeur 112 model. Additionally, our timeless designs, refreshed every three years, help extend the lifespan of our skis. Read more
Scalium™: A Technical Revolution
Developed by Ferreol and patented in 2023, Scalium™ is among the strongest aluminum alloys in the world. With a yield strength of up to 729 MPa, it is 45% stronger than standard aluminum alloys commonly used in aerospace. This alloy incorporates low-carbon aluminum sourced in Québec and recycled scandium from Rio Tinto Fer et Titane’s mining residues in Sorel-Tracy. Scalium™ enables the production of high-performance, eco-friendly products. Currently used in prototypes, this alloy represents the cutting edge of innovation in the industry. Read more.

Carbon Neutrality
In the autumn of 2022, Ferreol made a significant advancement toward carbon neutrality. By conducting Life Cycle Analysis (LCAs) of our operations and ski production, we collaborated with Carbon Boreal, a local university organization in Quebec, to offset all of our carbon emissions. We aim to be pioneers in the sustainable ski industry while educating our community about the sport’s carbon footprint. By disseminating this information, we promote a collective commitment to more responsible skiing practices.
